RCM&D / Shared Services Consortium Group Purchase Program
In reviewing numerous education insurance programs, we find that historically a majority of colleges and universities pay much more in premiums than the insurance companies paid out in losses. To help our clients better manage this large gap (losses to premiums), RCM&D, in conjunction with The Shared Services Consortium developed a group purchasing program for property and casualty insurance. This program allows schools to have individual policies, while still benefiting from the purchasing power of many schools working together. What the group purchase program accomplished for our education clients?
Highly aggressive pricing — all schools achieved double-digit premium decreases.
Coverage provided by industry-leading insurers
Comprehensive coverages
Insurance premiums “net” of any brokerage commissions.
About Shared Services Consortium
Recognizing the opportunity to reduce insurance costs for schools, Shared Services Consortium (SSC) entered into a partnership with RCM&D to develop risk management solutions for schools.
The SSC was created through the joint efforts of The Mellon Foundation, The Foundation for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education and Bucknell University, Dickinson College, Franklin & Marshall College and Gettysburg College. The goal of the SSC is to identify and implement ways in which schools can work together to reduce costs or improve services.
