Claims should be reported to the insurance company as quickly as possible to initiate the claim process. For first party claims, the sooner the loss is reported, the faster the investigation can begin and payment made. For liability and workers compensation claims, any delay can significantly impact the severity of the claim. The sooner the carrier can contact the claimant and conduct an investigation, the better the chance they have to preserve evidence and mitigate the loss without protracted litigation.
Claims can be reported to your carrier 24/7 by telephone or online (for some carriers). Below are claim reporting numbers for many of the major carriers and links to the carrier’s web site if online reporting is available.
Complicated specialty claims or claims with significant damage/injury should be reported to RCM&D by e-mailing email@example.com or calling 800-346-4075.
