Hazard Recognition and Risk Assessment

November 12, 2014 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Course Overview

There are four principles involved with hazard recognition.  First, all employees have a responsibility to understand safety rules and hazards.  Second, management owns the responsibility for providing training in hazard recognition.  Third, it doesn’t take a “safety professional” to spot hazards.  Finally, hazard recognition is part of “doing the job right”.  So, why is it often difficult for managers – and employees - to recognize and control hazards?

This webinar will provide attendees insight into hazard identification and why it’s often overlooked.  We will describe specific hazard recognition techniques you and your employees can use to recognize hazards likely to contribute to injuries, including ten-second drills, out-of-view audits, three key questions, behavioral observations, and inspections/audits.  We’ll also provide some tips on how to facilitate employee ownership of the hazard recognition process.
