Workplace violence is a growing concern among businesses of all industries. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health defines workplace or occupational violence as “the act or threat of violence, ranging from verbal abuse to physical assaults directed toward persons at work or on duty.” This session will explore the causal agents of violence in the workplace. The presenters will analyze information and statistics, discuss the reasons that have led to an increase in workplace violence, and identify strategies to decrease the potential for workplace violence in your facility.

  • Identify potential benefits of addressing problems
  • Explain the four basic types of workplace violence
