RCM&D’s Annual Charity Regatta Celebrates 20 Years of Supporting Nonprofits in Communities Served by the Insurance Advisory Firm Throughout the Mid-Atlantic

Sailing Event Has Raised More Than $620,000 Over the Past Two Decades

Towson, MD – RCM&D, a leading insurance and benefits advisory firm, hosted their 20th Annual Regatta on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Downtown Sailing Center in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Each year, the Regatta benefits nonprofits in the communities served by RCM&D’s six regional offices located throughout the mid-Atlantic region. This year’s event exceeded the fundraising goal of $65,000, raising $76,687 via sponsorships, donations, and an online auction.

Since its inception 19 years ago, the sailing event has raised more than $620,000. The event reflects Baltimore’s history as a port and trading city and provides a fun activity for sailors of all abilities who come together in the spirit of giving.

Funds raised through this year’s event were donated to Community Brain Injury Services, The Light House, Inc. and, Tuerk House, Inc.

“The team at RCM&D has drawn so much inspiration from the dozens of organizations we have supported over the last two decades via our Regatta,” said RCM&D President Robert Cawley. “As RCM&D has grown over the years and opened new offices throughout the region, we made it a priority to identify and give back to nonprofits that help meet the needs of the communities where our employees live and work. We are proud to be supporting these organizations and to raise awareness of their mission.”

An experienced sailor from RCM&D or the Downtown Sailing Center captained each of the boats in the Regatta to show invited guests, RCM&D team members, and representatives from the nonprofit groups the basics of sailing. A series of fun races were held throughout the afternoon and an awards ceremony, food, and music rounded out the day.”
