Fostering Independence and Belonging: Camp No Limits

Each year, RCM&D chooses well-deserving local nonprofit organizations to be the recipients of our year-round fundraising and volunteer initiatives. The result of these endeavors is commemorated during our annual Regatta event, a delightful waterfront celebration hosted at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. Mark your calendars for this year’s event on Friday, September 12.

As we approach this year’s festivities, we are proud to shine a spotlight on one of our 2025 beneficiaries: Camp No Limits, a transformative organization dedicated to empowering children with limb loss and limb difference—and their families—through education, mentorship and community.

About Camp No Limits

Founded in 2004, Camp No Limits is the signature program of the No Limits Foundation, a nonprofit committed to providing support, education and confidence-building experiences for children and adolescents living with limb loss or limb difference. Through a series of nationwide camps, Camp No Limits offers a welcoming, inclusive environment where campers and their families can learn, grow and connect with others who share similar experiences.

Each camp blends adaptive recreation, therapeutic education and peer support to foster resilience, independence and lifelong friendships. With a focus on ability rather than disability, Camp No Limits helps participants build the skills and confidence to live boldly and without limits.

Comprehensive Support for Holistic Health

Each program at Camp No Limits is thoughtfully designed to support the physical, emotional and social development of campers and their loved ones.

  • Occupational Therapy: Campers learn life skills with or without prosthetics, empowering them to find the most functional ways to navigate daily life confidently.
  • Physical Therapy: Activities such as running, biking and navigating stairs are designed to enhance mobility, posture and prosthetic education while promoting safe movement techniques.
  • Sibling Club: Siblings of campers receive education and tools to better understand limb difference and emotional support to navigate the unique challenges of their role.
  • Peer Support Groups: Campers, siblings, teens and parents participate in group sessions that foster open dialogue, shared experiences and emotional resilience.
  • Virtual Programs: Created in 2020, these sessions mirror the in-person camp experience to promote healthy, independent living from home and offer connection and education to families across the globe.

Nurturing Growth & Well-being: Stories from Camp

The impact of CNL is best seen through the stories of those who have grown up within its circle of care.

Isaiah Wims: From Camper to Mentor

Isaiah has been attending Camp No Limits since 2006. Over the years, he’s found confidence, lifelong friendships and a deep sense of purpose. Now a mentor, Isaiah gives back by guiding younger campers and sharing the “No Limits attitude” that shaped his own journey.

Kaylie Wims: Sibling, Volunteer, Leader

Kaylie, Isaiah’s sister, began attending camp with her family in 2007. What started as a sibling experience evolved into a leadership role. Today, Kaylie serves as a Team Leader for the Sibling Club, helping other siblings of campers navigate their own unique journeys.
