The deadline has arrived for posting 300A Summary injury and illness summaries for 2015.
OSHA requires the 300A Summary, which recaps your company’s workplace illness and injuries, be completed and posted where employees can easily see it from February 1 through April 30. The highest ranking company official at each site maintaining its own 300 logs must approve and sign the 300A summary.
Please note that most employers are required to post the logs; there are exceptions for workplaces with fewer than 10 employees and various retail and service industries. Last year the list of non-exempt industries was revised by OSHA, so make sure you check out the new list at the resource listed below.
What to report on the OSHA Log:
- all significant work-related injuries or illnesses diagnosed by a physician or other licensed healthcare professional
- all work-related injuries and illnesses that result in days away from work, restricted work or transfer to another job, loss of consciousness or medical treatment beyond OSHA’s definition of first-aid, and
- all work-related fatalities.
