As a result of the United State of Women Summit that took place earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and Office of Adult, Career, and Technical Education released another Dear Colleague letter. The letter begins with remarks by the new U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King. This Dear Colleague letter reminds institutions that women must have equal access to career and technical programs. The letter provides examples such as auto mechanics and construction management programs. The letter also suggests compliance oversight by the Title IX Coordinator.
