24th Annual RCM&D Regatta Sets Sail on September 8, 2017

BALTIMORE, MD – RCM&D, a leading independent risk management, insurance and employee benefits firm, is hosting its 24th Annual Regatta at the Downtown Sailing Center at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on Friday, September 8, 2017 beginning at 1 P.M. The private event is the organization’s largest philanthropic initiative of the year and benefits four nonprofits who serve the mid-Atlantic region.

This year, RCM&D expects to raise nearly $85,000 to support the following nonprofit beneficiaries: Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, Church Hill Activities and Tutoring, Franciscan Center and Sunshine Kids Foundation.

At the event, Regatta beneficiaries and representatives from the communities they serve, corporate sponsors, and employees who meet a fundraising threshold will have the opportunity to compete in the sailing race on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. During the race, RCM&D hosts an afternoon celebration at the Baltimore Museum of Industry’s Pavilion where guests cheer on the sailors, enjoy lunch and a variety of fun activities. At this time, guests will have the chance to meet with both the children and families that benefit from the work of the beneficiaries as well as the dedicated staff and leadership of these organizations. Following the race, an awards ceremony and check presentation to the beneficiaries will take place.

Throughout the year, RCM&D employees representing the firm’s five mid-Atlantic offices gave their time and resources to host a variety of fundraising and volunteer activities to support these beneficiaries. “Along with the employee advocacy and support, corporate sponsorships are critical to the success of the Regatta,” stated Katie Caple, Regatta Committee Chair and Vice President of Corporate Outreach for RCM&D.

Top sponsors of the 2017 RCM&D Regatta include Brown Advisory, Travelers, ABET Inc., Assurex Global, CNA, Liberty Mutual, Mag Mutual Insurance Company, Pinnacle Safety Network, Restore Rehabilitation, and Zurich.

Throughout the history of the Regatta, corporate sponsors and RCM&D employees have joined together to raise close to $900,000, one hundred percent of which is donated directly to the beneficiaries. “At the center of RCM&D’s corporate culture is a commitment to the communities we serve. We are proud to support these organizations by raising essential funds for their programs and helping to increase awareness of their missions,” stated Skip Counselman, Chairman and CEO of RCM&D. “The Regatta brings together our business partners, employees, beneficiaries and the community for one common cause, and that’s to help people in need and have a great time while doing it.”
