In light of the developing COVID-19 global health and economic crisis, and after careful consideration, RCM&D has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 RCM&D Regatta. The Regatta has been a cornerstone celebration of RCM&D’s corporate culture for more than 26 years. Throughout this history, the Regatta has raised more than $1 million for over 50 regional beneficiaries.
The decision to cancel the Regatta was not made lightly. These are unprecedented times and there are still many unknowns in the remaining part of the year that will challenge us both individually and as a business community. While we all know strong winds can often help propel you forward, there are often storms that cause even the most formidable sailors to take pause.
We sympathize with the entire global business community during these uncertain times, especially with those organizations that rely so heavily on our contributions to accomplish their mission. We hope that as a community we can come together to support one another so that when we emerge on the other side, we will be in an even stronger position to give back to the organizations that do so much good in our community.
The Regatta, while a single event in name, is in actuality part of a much larger annual effort. All year long our business community comes together to support our beneficiaries through fundraising but also through outreach, awareness and volunteerism. Be assured that RCM&D’s commitment to giving back to our community has not diminished. We will still look for opportunities to support the community around us in any capacity we can; arguably this is more important now than ever before.
At RCM&D, we pride ourselves on our Culture of One Purpose— a culture that is passionate about collaboration and teamwork across all aspects of our business from our employees to our clients and business partners. Today, our ‘one purpose’ is weathering the storm before us. Together, we will emerge stronger and set our sails again in 2021.Tags Regatta
