BALTIMORE, MD – RCM&D hosted its 31st Annual Regatta at the Downtown Sailing Center and Baltimore Museum of Industry, bringing employees, clients and community members together on the water in support of six nonprofit organizations working across the Mid-Atlantic region.
“Our employees invest in the Regatta long before race day,” said Matt Kahn, President of RCM&D. “They take the time to understand what each organization is working toward and where they need help. That understanding is what makes the support so meaningful.”
The 31st Annual Regatta was another ground-breaking event: 400+ attendees, $153,000+ raised and the first time the event supported six nonprofit organizations.
“The Regatta continues to grow because our people and the surrounding community show up for it year after year,” said Bob Cawley, CEO of RCM&D. “Our employees, sponsors and the nonprofits we support have built something that reflects who we are as a firm and what we value in the places where we work.”
The funds raised from the Regatta are directed toward the specific needs of each beneficiary, including:
- Abilities Network: The Client Emergency Assistance Fund, which helps individuals and families cover unexpected expenses that threaten their stability.
- Ashley Addiction Treatment: Youth programming for students in grades 6 through 12 focused on substance misuse prevention, healthy coping strategies and peer support.
- Blind Industries and Services of Maryland: Renovation of the Independence Training and Rehabilitation program kitchens, where students learn safe meal preparation and daily living skills.
- Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation: Patient and Family Services and the Child Life, Education and Creative Arts Therapy Department, which provide emotional and practical support that eases anxiety for patients and families.
- Henrico County Court Appointed Special Advocates: An explainer video correcting misconceptions about children who have experienced trauma and the role visitation plays in strengthening families.
- Pikesville Armory Foundation: Capital improvements turning the 17-acre Armory campus into a community space with athletic fields, arts venues, gardens, workforce development programs and an inclusive playground.
