BALTIMORE, Md. – Two risk management and healthcare consultants from RCM&D, a Baltimore-based insurance consultant, were honored by the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) by having their recent webinar, “Doctor, We Have a Problem…” featured in ASHRM University’s online catalogue.
Carol Miginsky, BSN, CPHRM, FASHRM and Assistant Vice President for RCM&D and Nancy Connelly, RN, BA and Risk Management Consultant for the firm developed and participated in the webinar-based session for ASHRM.
The webinar explores potential vulnerabilities for physician and ambulatory practices and offers strategies for effectively controlling and limiting liabilities. The presentation also outlines:
- Sources and policies for termination of the patient-physician relationship
- Best practices for employers to create an orientation checklist
- Key elements that influence staff competencies
- Processes for closing the loop on managing test or study results to safeguard against future risks
“ASHRM University is an excellent platform to further the education of ambulatory and physician practice staff related to risk reduction and patient safety. We are honored our presentation was selected for inclusion, given physicians increasing employment by hospitals” said Miginsky.
The ASHRM University provides a wide array of online learning assets which include self-studies, online courses and webinar-based sessions. ASHRM University is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
