RCM&D to be Honored with the 44th Annual Mayor’s Business Recognition Award

Baltimore, MD – RCM&D, a leading independent risk management, insurance and employee benefits firm, has been chosen as a recipient of the 44th Annual Mayor’s Business Recognition Award for its 25th Annual RCM&D Regatta give-back effort. The annual awards event, which is presented by the GBC, the Baltimore Development Corporation and the Mayor’s Office, honors businesses for their outstanding corporate leadership, commitment to community and dedication to improving the quality of life in Baltimore City.

The RCM&D Regatta is an annual community service initiative by RCM&D. Since 1993, the Regatta initiative has served the firm’s home community of Baltimore by providing critical funding, community outreach and mission support to local, deserving nonprofits. During the history of this initiative, RCM&D has raised more than $1 million for over 50 nonprofits that are dedicated to improving the quality of life for thousands of individuals and families in need. This year, the 2018 RCM&D Regatta initiative raised over $110,000 for four nonprofit beneficiaries, three of which are headquartered in Baltimore City and directly serve individuals in need in the Baltimore area every day. While the Regatta is a single day event, it is the culmination of a year-long fundraising and community service campaign by RCM&D employees, business partners, community sponsors and friends.

Joining RCM&D in earning this honor are 11 other local businesses committed to serving the Baltimore community, those businesses are Christopher Schafer Clothier; FutureCare Health and Management; Hotel Revival a Joie de Vivre Hotel; Lexi’s Lil Bug, LLC; LifeBridge Health; Loyola University Maryland; Notre Dame Preparatory School; PNC Bank; The Baltimore Ravens; University of Maryland, Baltimore; and WBAL-TV.

The winners of the 2018 Mayor’s Award will be recognized at the Mayor’s Recognition Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel at 202 East Pratt Street in Baltimore MD 21202. The program will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and awards presentation. Mayor Catherine Pugh will join the Baltimore Development Corporation and the Greater Baltimore Committee in presenting the awards. Registration for the event is open until November 30, 2018.

“RCM&D is honored to be presented with this prestigious award,” said RCM&D Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, Skip Counselman. “The RCM&D Regatta is a truly unique kind of fundraiser, and it is a great opportunity to work all year to give back to the city we have called home for more than 133 years!”
