RCM&D’s David Johnson Joins Healthy Workforce Panel Discussion on Capitol Hill

The American Public Health Association (APHA) invited David Johnson, Senior Vice President from RCM&D’s Employee Benefits Division, to serve on a panel of experts for a breakfast briefing for congressional leaders on the value of investing in public health and a healthy workforce.

The National Public Health Week Breakfast Briefing took place on April 3, 2013 at the U.S. Capital Visitor’s Center.

Johnson shared information about the impacts of public health and healthy communities on business and why businesses need healthy communities and healthy workers.  He also highlighted some innovative workplace wellness programs, particularly partnerships employers have developed with community groups and public health departments.

“Interest in taking an active role in building a healthy workforce continues to grow amongst business owners and government leaders,” said Johnson. “I was honored to be asked to share my perspective and the specific experiences our team at RCM&D has had providing innovative wellness and benefit solutions for clients throughout the country. It was also interesting to hear from other experts in this area regarding emerging issues and best practices for improving the health of our workforce.”
