RCM&D’s Denise Shope Elected to Board of Directors of American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM)
Towson, MD – RCM&D announced today that Denise Shope, Risk Management Consultant for the firm, has been elected to the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management’s (ASHRM) Board of Directors.
Shope and other new ASHRM officers were sworn in during the society’s annual conference in Phoenix, AZ on Sunday, October 16, 2011 and will begin their terms on January 1, 2012.
A resident of Danville, PA, Shope has more than 17 years of experience in healthcare risk management; handling clinical risk management for long-term care, tertiary care and physician groups. She has extensive experience in patient advocacy, performance improvement, regulatory compliance and patient safety.
As a risk management consultant at RCM&D, Shope serves as a valuable resource to the firms healthcare clients throughout the region. She performs risk assessments on problem area departments within organizations and also acts as an interim risk manager for those facilities that are experiencing a vacancy within their Risk/Quality departments through RCM&D’s locum tenens service.
Shope is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), holds a Masters in Health Services Administration (MHSA) Degree from Marywood University and is a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pennsylvania.
