Bruce Guthrie, ARM, CIC

Bruce Guthrie is a Senior Broker based in RCM&D’s Washington, DC office. With over 20 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, Bruce provides strategic risk management and insurance solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients, including real estate owners, property managers, contractors, social service organizations, and healthcare institutions such as hospitals and assisted living facilities. Bruce was also named a winner in the 2026 Risk & Insurance® Power Broker® awards in the at-large category for his work guiding organizations through complex risk scenarios across various industries.

In his current role, Bruce leads complex insurance placements, manages client relationships and oversees program design and renewal strategies. He is responsible for negotiating with carriers, crafting tailored coverage solutions, and advising clients on regulatory changes and emerging risks. Known for his responsiveness and deep industry knowledge, Bruce is a trusted advisor to clients navigating multifaceted risk environments. Bruce’s experience includes working within the London market and placing coverage for multibillion-dollar municipal and real estate portfolios, including clients in the District of Columbia. He has extensive experience with shared, layered and single-carrier placements.

Before joining RCM&D, Bruce worked in AON’s Fine Arts Division, providing risk consulting for some of the nation’s largest museums. After his initial tenure at RCM&D from 2013 to 2019, he expanded his client base through referrals from M&T Bank Loan Officers, serving contractors, property owners/managers and manufacturers.

Outside of work, Bruce serves on the Board of Directors for his condominium association in Montgomery County, MD, advising on insurance, legal affairs, budgeting and daily operations for 300 unit-owners.
