Janelle Abel joined RCM&D in December 2023 as a Regional Healthcare Practice Leader. With over two decades of industry experience, Janelle’s expertise in healthcare positions her as a valuable addition to the firm.

In her current role, Janelle oversees and manages activities for both clients and the RCM&D team, including communication, strategy, and marketing for healthcare accounts. Janelle is poised to excel as a Regional Healthcare Practice Leader by leveraging her strengths in leading strategic risk management initiatives tailored for healthcare providers, engaging in consultative collaborations with clients to enhance their total cost of risk, and directing efforts to connect healthcare organizations with effective risk management and captive insurance solutions.

Her technical expertise spans medical professional liability, cyber liability, insurance program consulting, strategic risk management for healthcare, captive insurance solutions, healthcare industry insight, client-centric service delivery, and a consultative approach to reducing the total cost of risk. With this robust skill set, Janelle is well-positioned to drive impactful and client-focused solutions in the healthcare industry.

Janelle has her Property and Casualty License in Maryland, Pennsylvania, District of Columbia and Virginia.

Prior to joining RCM&D, Janelle served as a Program Manager specializing in Casualty and Cyber Liability at Resort Hotel Association. Earlier, she served as a Freelance Business Consultant for over 9 years and as a Business Development Executive at Medical Society of Virginia for 2 years. From 2003 – 2010, Janelle held a variety of roles at USI Insurance Services, including Property and Casualty Insurance Executive, Signature Sales and Vice President of Commerical Insurance.
