Richard Shaw

Richard is a Client Executive with RCM&D supporting the Construction Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2015 bringing over 30 years of property & casualty experience.  

Richard works with some of RCM&D’s largest and most complex construction and real estate clients. He has extensive experience in managing high-level client relationships as well as managing and coordinating marketing, customer service, loss control, claims and carrier resources.  

As a partner to his clients, Richard has created customized programs and services to meet the unique needs and goals of his clients with complex risk exposures. These programs include loss sensitive plans that provide a cost-effective insurance and risk management solution. Richard is invested in the safety goals of his clients, often serving as a member of their internal risk management/safety committee.  

Richard is active with many regional construction and real estate industry associations and organizations. As a regarded expert in his field, Richard has presented at BLocal Contractors College as well as events for industry associations including IKECA, Restoration Industry Association, IAQA, ASA, and the Katz Abosch Construction Bootcamp. He is a frequent contributor to the Maryland Construction Network (MCN) serving as an expert panelist, newsletter contributor and moderator at the MCN Builder and Contractor Forum.  

Prior to joining RCM&D, Richard worked at various national and regional brokers. He is licensed as a property and casualty and life and health producer in a number of states.
