Tyler Mays serves as Maryland Market Leader for the firm, overseeing operations and growth strategies across all Maryland office locations. In this role, he leads a dynamic team committed to delivering tailored solutions and exceptional client service throughout the region. Tyler is dedicated to building strong relationships and advocating for clients’ long-term success.

Since joining the firm in 2022, Tyler has leveraged his legal and risk advisory knowledge to drive strategic initiatives and help organizations strengthen their risk strategies. Previously, he held a dual role as Risk Advisor and Associate General Counsel, where he provided counsel on complex insurance and risk issues, supported Unison Risk Solutions, and developed new business relationships with self-insured entities across the Mid-Atlantic. He also worked closely with the healthcare team to support group and single-parent captives both domestically and internationally. Additionally, his client list includes many notable nonprofits, law firms, real estate developers, all with national and/or global profiles.

Tyler is a licensed broker in property, casualty, health and life insurance lines. He brings a unique perspective shaped by his experience as an insurance defense litigator and as a medical consultant for a global medical distribution company. This background enables him to combine technical knowledge with strategic insight, offering clients innovative solutions that align with their business goals. He also serves as President of the Board of The Baltimore Station, Board Member for Associated Black Charities and Member of the Association of Italian American Charities, underscoring his dedication to community engagement and ethical leadership.
